This is Paul Washer of HeartCry Missionary Society . My heart yearns for all of us who have the incredible privilege to call ourselves children of God to burn with passion for our Lord, Savior, God - awesome, holy, sovereign - our Lord God who has no equal is worthy to be praised, honored and worshipped because He is who He is and looks upon us wretched souls and loves us enough to give us all that He has, His one and only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Knowing this, how can any child of God not desire to give Him all we have? What is so good here on this earth, that we must hold on to it with one hand and try to hold on to God with the other? What causes us to be so double-minded? What is so great about this world? What is so great about our desires outside of God? What is so wonderfully captivating about the things of this world that our minds our not continually renewed and transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit? Lord God, whom have I in Heaven but You? And earth has nothing I
I'd like to tell you a story about four people, named: Everybody , Somebody , Anybody and Nobody There was a very important job to be done, and Everybody was asked to do it. Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did. So, Somebody got angry about this, because it was Everybody’s job. Everybody thought Somebody would do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done. The moral of this story is: Be a Nobody and do what Everybody won’t! Live a life honoring to Christ alone and evangelize, evangelize, evangelize...GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES! Don’t strive to be like Everybody and follow the crowd; don’t pursue to make a name for yourself in this world and become Somebody ; and don’t settle to be just Anybody ; but make your life’s goal to become Nobody so that the Gift of Jesus Christ’s fullness may be displayed in you so that the
Short answer....NO! And for those of you who’d like for me to elaborate a bit, the following Scriptures support the reason why no one can ever work/earn their way to Heaven: John 14:6 “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Titus 3:4-7 “But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of the rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.” Romans 8:22-24 “This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Ephesia

My old church had a volunteer position called, “Decision Counselors”. As a Decision Counselor, part of my job was to “sign up” new people who desired membership at our church. Part of that “sign up” process was to first ask this question, “In your own words, describe how a person can go to Heaven.” I got some interesting answers, but most times, I’d get the “right” answer, “Ask Jesus into your heart.”, or “Ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior.” But I didn’t usually get just answer. About 95% of the time people either added a statement right before saying the “right” answer, or something after, “Do good things, read the Bible, obey the Ten Commandments, go to church, believe in God”, etc. Sometimes, the really well-versed would even quote Ephesians 2:8-9 or Romans 10:9-10 , or some other verses that has nothing to do with salvation. To everyone who gave me a “weak” answer, I’d ask a second question, “What does Jesus mean to you ...personally?” These are the responses I received 100%
Many people ask , “Can I lose my salvation?” This is truly a tough question. But since the word of God says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” ( Psalm 119:105 ) Let’s look to the word of God to reveal the truth (shine a light) on this question so we can “see” what the answer is: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 “...for God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable.” Romans 11:29 “The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” Mark 10:26-27 I know many people have a different take on this, but here’s what I believe according to what God’s word says about our salvation. God’s word says that salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ ( John 3:16-18 , Acts 4:9-12 , 1 Thessa
I know some of you are thinking "Worship in the presence of our enemies? What a strange thing to say!" I suppose it does sound a bit strange. After all, is it not written in Scripture that we ought to worship in the presence of our LORD God? ( 1 Chronicles 16:29 , Ezekiel 46:3 , Psalm 95:6 ) Good point! Yes, it's true, God calls His children into an intimate relationship with Him and invites us to enter His presence to worship Him "in the splendor of His holiness". But God doesn't call us to worship Him whenever or wherever it's most comfortable, convenient or in a situation that "makes sense" to us. No, instead, God calls His children to worship Him anywhere and everywhere and ALL THE TIME! Our Father God expects us to even be able to worship Him before the presence of our enemies so that they will know that we do not fear those that can kill the body but cannot kill the soul. No, instead we fear [ revere ] the One [God] who can destroy both
Spirituality has always been popular. But spirituality and Christianity are two VERY different things. Do you know why spirituality is so popular? Because it requires nothing of a person. To be spiritual, all you need is to do is just say you believe in a "higher being", "higher authority" or "higher power", trust you're going to Heaven based on your "good" deeds (i.e., attend a local church, give to charity, read the Bible, feed the hungry, help the poor, etc.) and just overall, feel good about yourself. But Christianity (that is to follow, resemble, and have the same character of Christ) requires everything ... your very life. Why is this? Because Jesus Christ suffered and died to give us His righteousness and took on our unrighteousness, our sins, and our filth (2 Corinthians 5:21). Basically, by Christ's sacrificial death and resurrection, God has offered us a "trade"...Christ's righteousness for our unrighteousnes
Proverbs 27:5-6 "Better is open rebuke than hidden love. Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses." One of the greatest things Jesus said will cause the world to know that we are His...His followers...His friends....His Bride....one family of God, united in Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit is this - our love for one another ( John 14:34-35 ). And how do we Christians love one another as Christ has loved us? We do what Jesus did. We love with: No concern for what we might gain or lose from loving the other person ( Matthew 16:25-26 , Galatians 1:10 , 1 Peter 3:13-14 ). The best interest of the other person, not according to our opinion of what is best, but according to what God says is best ( 1 Corinthians 10:23-24 , Ephesians 4:29 , Philippians 2:3-5 & 1 Peter 4:11 ). Sacrificial love - for if we serve & give to one another only when it's convenient for us, we are no longer "living sacrifices", but conveniently li

Have you never read, 'Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise'?"
