About Me

My photo

Hey there, I'm Sunny Shell, a wretch saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ the Lord. I'm married to the most incredible man on earth, who loves Jesus more than he loves me, and we have two precious adult sons.

The compassionately endures me through my metabolic disease (since 2004) that enables me to be more prayerful and careful about commitments I make and helps me to make the best use of my short time here on earth.

Praise...Darwin? A Message from Ray Comfort

Praise... Darwin?

In 1963, it took only one atheist to take Bible-reading and prayer out of our schools.

Now they want to stop Gideons from giving Bibles to school kids, remove reference to God on our money and in the Pledge of Allegiance, change B.C./A.D., stop public prayer, ban nativity scenes, etc.

The "Freedom From Religion Foundation," is placing billboards around the country trying to offend Christians so that the national media will film their billboard, promote their website, and thus help gain support to fulfill their godless agenda. They want to take from Americans the liberty that we have to freely worship God.

Darwin Day, February 12th, 2009

More than 350 locations around the world are celebrating Darwin Day -- the 200th birthday of Charles Darwin. Atheists will no doubt use it to further their cause. Many universities and even the National Geographic and Discovery Channels are planning to celebrate. This is a big deal.

We want to pull the plug on the rising tide of atheism, so we have created a website called www.PullThePlugOnAtheism.com on which you will find short email-able articles and clips that show evolution and atheism to be both unscientific and, for want of a better word, stupid.

We are also planning our own billboard campaign:

We want to know:

1. Do you have any contacts in billboard companies that could help us make these a quick reality? CONTACT US NOW: newsltr@livingwaters.com - we need to move fast.

2. If you would like to make your own arrangements to have a billboard put up in your area, we can supply you with the artwork above. Just let us know you need it: newsltr@livingwaters.com.

We would value your prayers.

Thank you.
Ray

  1. This is AWEsome, dear sister. I'll take a further look into this when I have another still moment. What a fabulous ministry and idea.

  2. I often think: "If God was standing beside me, what would He say about this?" This is one of those moments!

Those billboards make me cry. What is God's world coming to?

  3. There is a big campaign starting in our city (Toronto, Canada) on buses and public transit:

"There probably is no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life."

I felt sorrow when I heard about it and brought it to the attention of our local Christian radio station. They had a call in this morning about it on the morning program, and the consensus was not what I expected it would be, but I was humbled and had my own perspective changed.

Many people embraced such an open opportunity to share their belief in God. If a bus drives by with such an open message, it presents a great moment to turn to someone next to you and start a dialogue on the subject. In fact, billboards and messages like these are making it EASIER for us to share God's word! My own timid nature has always made it difficult to find a way to bring up God's word with strangers. Now I have a whole lot of help!

I think many of these campaigns are trying to incite anger from Christians. I hope no group falls prey to this trap. How difficult it can be to maintain the peace of Christ in the face of such blatant blasphemy, and yet we must try and use this for His good.

  5. Wow Sunny, this is horrible - not surprising, but horrible. I wish I did have connections, but I don't.

  6. Why am I not surprised? I am mortified and ashamed that it has come to this in this world! Praise God this world is not our home. I wish I knew someone in the billboard industry, but I don't. Soon it will probably be illegal to bless someone after a sneeze. How sad.

  8. Sunny,

I will definitely post the banner on my sidebar. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone in the billboard industry. However, our church has 2 huge billboards in this town so maybe they do. I have a voice...I can ask!

Blessings to you sweet sister for bringing this to our attention! Love you so much!
