Movie Review: 'Son of God' Is Most Certainly Not The Son of God

Today, "Son of God", a new movie produced by Roma Downey and her husband Mark Burnett opened in theaters across the country. Individual Christians and well-known Christian churches, organizations and even schools are raving about seeing Jesus on the big screen. Many Christian groups bought out multiple screens at theaters or purchased mass quantities of group tickets for this epic film...or rather, epic fail of the true and biblical story of Jesus, the Son of God. Last year I was contacted by a media group for The History Channel. They emailed me requesting my help in promoting their upcoming 10-episode miniseries called "The Bible". After reviewing their material, Bible studies based on the series, and clips of every episode, I responded kindly telling them that due to the unbiblical nature of the series, I was unable to help promote it. After watching the entire miniseries I wrote and published my review and I haven't heard from them since. Pr...

Ray Comfort's latest movie deflates narcissistic balloon of evolution

In "Evolution vs. God" , Ray Comfort , Founder/CEO of Living Waters Publications  completely collapses the heart of the evolution theory with wisdom from above (James 3:17-18) — by asking a poignant, yet simple question no one could answer. When I asked Ray what prompted this movie, he said,  "I was very concerned because Richard Dawkins made his way to the United States and began reaching out for university students, encouraging them towards evolution and atheism; which only leads to sin-filled lifestyles: pornography, homosexuality, and other perversions. Believing in evolution just gives people the excuse to sin and deny the God who created them." In preparation for "Evolution vs. God"  (which was originally titled "Famous Atheists") Ray asked more than 20 scientists if he could interview them for this movie. Most said, "No" and others said, "Yes, but not on camera." He was grateful that God gave him favor with ...

Easter: The truth about life, death and The Resurrection

Is there life after death? Are we reincarnated and come back as something else depending on the kind of life we previously lived? Can the dead rise back to life? Is there really a Heaven and Hell? The answers are: yes, there is life after death; no,  reincarnation isn't real; and yes, when a person dies, they will be resurrected either to eternal life in Heaven with God, or eternal damnation in Hell with Satan and his demons (John 5:28-29). Two days ago, we rejoiced in the reason why Good Friday is so good—because, once and for all, the penalty for sin was paid in full for those who by faith, repent and trust their lives to Jesus (Hebrews 10:10). Today, we rejoice that Jesus Christ is risen! The grave that could not hold our Savior, cannot hold us. The power of sin and Satan were defeated so that sinners whom Christ came to save would be guaranteed eternal life in Him. Many will celebrate today with chocolate, bunnies, Easter eggs, new dresses and hat...

What's so 'good' about Friday?

Usually, the word “good” is associated with things that are beneficial and bring cheer and hope. Two thousand years ago on “Good Friday”, Jesus the Christ, the only begotten Son of God was betrayed, abandoned, brutally beaten, nailed to a cross, then died. Betrayal. Abandonment. Brutality. Crucifixion. Death. Nothing about that sounds “good” does it? But it is good. And here’s why—the Son of God: Suffered and died to pay the penalty for our sins (Heb 2:17, 1 John 4:10); Defeated the power of Satan, sin and the sting of death (1 Cor 15:51-57); Set free all, who by faith, repent and trust in Him (Mk 1:15, Luke 13:5, Eph 2:8-9); Made us ambassadors of Christ and ministers of the Gospel of reconciliation (2 Cor 5:18-20); Provided a way for the Father to impute His righteousness to those who believe (2 Cor 5:21). Now that’s good news! “For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though ...

History Channel's 'The Bible' exalts man over God

About a week ago, I was contacted by the History Channel’s media group asking me to help promote “The Bible”, a new mini-series that was created and produced by Roma Downey, ( Touched By An Angel ) with her husband Mark Burnett (producer:  The Voice ,  Survivor ,  Shark Tank ,  Celebrity Apprentice ). After prayerfully reviewing the materials and consulting with my wise husband, I stated that I was unable to participate in promoting this endeavor due to its highly unbiblical content, as well as their portrayal of championing the virility of man while palliating the glory, righteousness and holiness of God. God our Father revealed Himself through His holy word (the real Bible) to proclaim: God's righteousness; Man's depravity; Humanity's desperate need for a Savior—the Gospel of Jesus Christ. From the words of the creators and producers of not - "The Bible" mini-series, their purpose is to portray God: As an angry God who punishes the "bad...

Genius: A new MUST SEE movie by Living Waters

Hello friends, Guess what? Ray Comfort and the Living Waters staff have created another inspiring movie that will cause you to examine your hearts (2 Cor 13:5), and exhort you to be holy as the Lord our God is holy (1 Peter 1:15-16). "Genius" gives insight into the life of John Lennon, and according to Ken Mansfield (the ex-U.S. Apple manager for the Beatles) "[It] will open your eyes." Reviewers of the pre-release are giving it two thumbs up. Best-selling author, Randy Alcorn, said it is "Fast-paced, thought-provoking and compelling." World Net Daily's Joseph Farah responded with, "You have outdone yourself!" while Ted Baehr of Movieguide called it "An entertaining and challenging insight…watch and wonder." Ray Comfort said he was amazed to discover that the Beatles aren't simply a rock group from a by-gone era, but that they are appealing to a new generation. "They have sold more than 2,303,500,000 r...

Interview with Dr. Ravi Zacharias on his latest book, "Why Jesus?"

Why Jesus?  is  Dr. Ravi Zacharias  latest book, released today, January 25, 2012. This is a well-researched, intriguing and informative book that will set free the minds of all who are confused about who Jesus really is . People like Oprah Winfrey, Deepak Chopra and Rhonda Byrne have infected the minds and hearts of many, leading them astray to worship false gods and believe in a false Jesus. These religious misunderstandings can cause much strife in marriages and sometimes lead to divorce. That’s why it’s critical for us to have books like  Why Jesus?  to help educate our society that’s saturated with false hope and mass confusion. With the heart of a compassionate father and the intellect of an astute scholar, Dr. Zacharias gives us the rarely understood background of how Eastern mysticism has defiled our Western theology and how the massive power of media has muddled the truth about eternal life and how to obtain it. Why did you write the ...

A widow's affliction produces compassion for the homeless

“No, not me, Lord! Homeless people are lazy, smelly and violent people who deserve to be on the streets,” exclaimed Susie Jennings, just months after being widowed in 1993. Now Susie is the Founder and President of Operation Care International (OCI), formerly Operation Care - Dallas. I met Susie in the winter of 2004 when she was rallying help for what would become our nation’s largest Christmas party for the homeless. On December 18 of that year, the first of many OCI’s “Christmas Gift” was held at the Dallas Convention Center with 1,500 volunteers serving food, washing feet, cutting hair, distributing clothes, blankets and gifts, along with 10 hospital facilities providing medical care and more, for approximately 8,500 homeless men, women and children. Motivated by her devotion to her first and greatest love, Jesus Christ the Lord, Susie is a true servant-leader who works tirelessly to love the homeless with the same comfort and compassion she receives from God (2 Cor 1:3-4). Su...

True or false convert...which one are you?

To purchase this DVD, click this link: True and False Conversion Is your assurance based on your own convictions; a prayer you said one day, or are you resting your assurance in the Person of Christ alone and what He said and did? Unfortunately, our country is brimming with beautiful church buildings, both large and small that are filled with false converts, birthed through the preaching of the false gospel which only makes a person feel good, yet void of the power to make a person be good. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying anyone can ever be good, for only God is good (Mark 10:18). But what I am saying is, upon true conversion through faith in Christ alone, God imputes the righteousness of His perfect, one and only begotten Son upon a wretched soul. Prior to salvation, no one has the choice to please God, that is, do good. Of course, people are able to do some "nice" things for one another, but since God alone is good, anything or anyone absent of God...
