There is often a heated debate within the Christian community as to which type of education is best for our children: Homeschool, Private Christian School or, Public School Parents within all positions seem to have very strong opinions regarding this topic, specifically, the parents who Homeschool their children versus the parents who send their children to Public School. Sadly, this topic has been used by Satan to divide the children of God on a matter which should unify us in much prayer, comfort and encouragement for one another. But alas, like Silly String, careless and belittling words are strewn all over the priceless and exquisite mantle of Christ’s love—rather than thoughtful, kind and considerate words of God’s wisdom (James 3:17-18). Here's a sampling of judgmental and holier than thou accusations and condemnations that have flown out of the mouths of both parties who seem to be the most up at arms with one another: Homeschoolers vs. Public Schoolers. It ...

When and How to Forgive
There are many who are of the opinion that forgiveness should only be given to those who have either asked for forgiveness or have some how demonstrated true repentance. They say it is because the Bible says that without repentance, there is no forgiveness of sins, therefore no salvation (Luke 13:1-5). It's true that if a person does not repent of their sins, ask God for forgiveness, and trust their lives to Jesus Christ, they will suffer the full penalty of their sins. But we're not talking about God's forgiveness that is necessary for salvation, we're only discussing the gift of forgiveness from one sinner to another. As Christians, we understand that before anyone sins against us , they first sin against God. Therefore, it would be proper that they ask God for forgiveness BEFORE they seek our forgiveness. " Strive for peace with everyone , and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace o...

What is blasphemy and heresy?
Many of us who "grew up in the church" are familiar with words like blasphemy and heresy, but aren't sure what they mean, how God applies them in His word, and how He expects us to apply them in our daily lives as His holy and dearly loved children. "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain." ~ Exodus 20:7 "But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction." 2 Peter 2:1 In order to gain what God's usage of blasphemy and heresy are, we'll take a look at how these words (in their various forms) are used in Scripture as well as the original Hebrew and Greek. blasphemy n. ~ 1. profane or contemptuous speech, writing, or action concerning God or anything held...

Osteen opposes Christ, promising your best life now
"Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword . For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person's enemies will be those of his own household. Whoever loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And whoever does not take his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it." ~Matthew 10:34-39 The common misconception in the world and in Christendom today is that trusting in Jesus Christ will make you "a better you" , or make the life you’re already living better than it was. But that simply is not true. This is what God calls false doctrine as the Holy Spirit instructed the Apostle Paul and the Apostle John to write: "If...

Simplicity of The Gospel
As I was having my quiet time today, God reminded me of the simplicity of His message of salvation and how He wants His children to live. First, I will cover the simplicity of the Gospel. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him.” ~ John 3:16-17 Do you know why Jesus, the Son of God, did not come into the world to condemn it? Let’s read on to the next few verses and see what God says. “Whoever believes in Him [Jesus Christ] is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” ~ John 3:18 According to God’s word, it is because we are condemned already. Why are we condemned already? “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by His grace as a gift, through the re...

Humbled by God's Election
Beloved sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, I come to you today in great humility and gratitude as I consider the Cross. During my quiet time this morning with our great and awesome God, I couldn't help but be baffled and utterly grateful for His choosing me, as it is written: "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He may give it to you." ~ John 15:16 "If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you." ~ John 15:19 (emphasis added) With sober eyes, I see myself. I see myself as I am without Christ. I am an arrogant and prideful woman who presumes I am qualified to sit in the seat of the Judge and speak condemnations or praise for those I deem worthy or not. How often my prideful heart, so easily deceived gives birth ...

Sitting In A Garage Won’t Make Me A Car
I know that statement seems a bit obvious and even strange to say, but I feel it’s necessary. It’s simple, clear and to the point…like me. And here’s the point: As much as sitting in a garage won’t make you a car, sitting in a church won’t make you a Christian either. Many years ago when my boys were toddlers, during one of our breakfast, family devotionals, I wanted to explain to them that being a Christian is more than just saying a prayer, going to church or anything else. I wanted to share with them that they become a new creation. So to drive this picture home, I took my boys into the garage and began: “Well, boys, guess what?! Mama’s a car! Isn’t that cool?!” They both looked at me as if I had lost my mind and said simultaneously, “No you’re not, you’re our Mama.” But I insisted, “No boys, what are in garages?” They responded, “Cars.” I added, “Correct. So, it only makes sense that if I’m sitting in a garage, then I must be a car!” Then I started to make sounds like a car, “d...

Communion: Established by Christ, Not by Man
One of the things that grieve my heart the most is how modern day Christian churches view and practice our Lord’s holy communion – breaking of the bread and drinking of the wine. Most churches have long forgotten the reverence and the purpose in which communion was established and why we still practice it. Communion is also known as the Lord’s Supper. There is a reason for that. It was referred to as the Lord’s Supper because that’s who this meal belongs to, that’s who established it, the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus did not teach His disciples to take of the bread and drink of the wine as a mere religious practice to be performed in order for exterior holiness to be displayed or achieved (which is an oxymoron). No, instead it is written that communion was established by Christ for His disciples to practice for the purpose and in the manner noted in the passage below: “And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, ea...

Revere the Name of God
I once heard a Senior Pastor preach a sermon in which he referred to God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit as “Big Daddy, Junior and the Spook.” YIKES! How does a Senior Pastor of a church in the “Bible Belt” come to view the Lord God Almighty in such a denigrating way? By supporting and allowing heretical teachers/preachers to bring their conferences to their churches, sending their pastors to conferences sponsored by heretical teachers/preachers as well as quoting them or reading any of their materials. While well meaning pastors may not agree with everything heretical preachers espouse, many pastors are sadly deceived into believing that they are discerning enough to be able to use only the “good” portions and sift out the bad. It’s written: “A little yeast [false teaching] works through the whole batch of dough.” (Galatians 5:9) “Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’ ”( 1 Corinthians 15:33) Having anything to do with those who are more concerned w...

Cancer Isn't Funny & Trite...Neither is Sin
Here is our faithful brother, Paul Washer again whom God has used to preach the true Gospel of Christ and exhort others to do the same. "I want you to know, brothers, that the Gospel I preached is not something that man made up. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ." ~ Galatians 1:11-12 "When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power." ~ 1 Corinthians 2:1-5

Jesus Christ is Not a Yuppies Accessory, He is God!
This is Paul Washer of HeartCry Missionary Society . My heart yearns for all of us who have the incredible privilege to call ourselves children of God to burn with passion for our Lord, Savior, God - awesome, holy, sovereign - our Lord God who has no equal is worthy to be praised, honored and worshipped because He is who He is and looks upon us wretched souls and loves us enough to give us all that He has, His one and only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Knowing this, how can any child of God not desire to give Him all we have? What is so good here on this earth, that we must hold on to it with one hand and try to hold on to God with the other? What causes us to be so double-minded? What is so great about this world? What is so great about our desires outside of God? What is so wonderfully captivating about the things of this world that our minds our not continually renewed and transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit? Lord God, whom have I in Heaven but You? And earth has nothing I de...

Can You Work Your Way to Heaven?
Short answer....NO! And for those of you who’d like for me to elaborate a bit, the following Scriptures support the reason why no one can ever work/earn their way to Heaven: John 14:6 “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Titus 3:4-7 “But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of the rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.” Romans 8:22-24 “This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:8-9 “F...

Salvation: Revocable or Irrevocable?
Many people ask , “Can I lose my salvation?” This is truly a tough question. But since the word of God says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” ( Psalm 119:105 ) Let’s look to the word of God to reveal the truth (shine a light) on this question so we can “see” what the answer is: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 “...for God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable.” Romans 11:29 “The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” Mark 10:26-27 I know many people have a different take on this, but here’s what I believe according to what God’s word says about our salvation. God’s word says that salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ ( John 3:16-18 , Acts 4:9-12 , 1 Thessaloni...

The Difference Between Guilt and Conviction
Guilt n 1. the fact or state of having committed an offense, crime, violation, or wrong, esp. against moral or penal law 2. a feeling of remorse and responsibility for some offense, crime, wrong, etc. Guilt only leaves you with the revelation of an error, offense, wrong or sin with no hope of redemption, but only with the despair of condemnation. (Leviticus 5:17, Psalm 38:4, 2 Corinthians 2:7) Conviction n 1. a fixed or firm belief, 2. the act of convincing of error, or of compelling the admission of a truth; confutation (the act of proving an error, defect or wrong). Conviction reveals an error, offense, wrong or sin, then opens the light of truth and provides a way out of shame and condemnation, and offers forgiveness, redemption, salvation and freedom in Jesus Christ (Romans 8:1-2, 1 Corinthians 10:13). "As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting. For you felt a godly grief, so that you suffered no los...
