ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Is Not Pro-Life, But Can Be

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ASL) commonly known as Lou Gherig's Disease, is a fatal neuromuscular disease that presently has no cure. No ALS patient is alike. Some people experience a slow degeneration, while others experience a more rapid degeneration of the motor neurons in their brain and spinal cord that disperse messages to allow voluntary muscle function throughout their body. Variant rates of motor neuron degeneration allows for patients diagnosed with ALS to live anywhere from  three to five years after diagnoses . The "ALS Ice Bucket Challenge" campaign began with "SC Featured: Pete's Challenge" shown in the video below. Many people are taking the "ALS Ice Bucket Challenge". I think this is a fun and fantastic way to promote awareness and garner financial support to help people afflicted with ALS, as well as finance research to find a cure. A good way to accomplish this is to support organizations like Team Gleason ....

President Obama and his faith

I love God, this earthly country He's made me a citizen of, and I respect the presidential office and the foundation on which it was established, to: faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve , protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. However, I do not respect the manner in which President Obama has neglected this solemn oath, and more over, how he professes Christ Jesus as Lord, yet lives, votes and believes in a way that vehemently opposes  God Almighty's holy and righteous decrees (2 Tim 2:22). "If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, and constant friction among people who are depra...

180 movie review: to abort or not to abort

To abort or not to abort...that is the question. But what is the answer? I mean, the right answer? It’s amazing how many people establish an opinion on important issues without having all the facts. If we're honest, we'll all admit, everything we hear or read in the media isn't “the whole truth and nothing but the truth”. The media (depending on the source), will either skew facts or completely dismiss some, so the public will have no choice but to agree with the media representative's opinion. Personally, I don't believe the American people are so feeble-minded. I believe whether Christian or non-Christian, we're all endowed by our Creator with a conscience that allows us to distinguish between right and wrong. And if we're provided with accurate information regarding any issue, we are capable of making decisions that are right in the sight of God.  Almost one and a half years ago (September 26, 2011),  Living Waters Publications  (LWP) rele...

Sexual Immorality Promotes Abortion, Dignity Promotes Life

No longer be deceived by Planned Parenthood's lies.   January 22, 2013 marked the 40 year anniversary of Roe v. Wade ; since that day, nearly 60 million innocent, unborn babies have been slaughtered within, what ought to be the safest place on earth—their mother's womb. There are three basic positions on the topic of abortion: Pro-Life , Pro-Choice and what I call, "Pro-Inbetweeners". Pro-Life:   life begins at conception ; babies are gracious gifts from God Almighty to the mother and father, whether or not they're deserving of such a precious gift; all human beings are created in God's image, therefore abortion, that is, terminating the life of an unborn child, should not be allowed for any reason; whether rape, incest, disabilities or even the possible death of the mother if she carries the child to full-term. Pro-Choice:  the beginning of life is relative and uncertain; the unborn baby is considered a living being only when he/she is "wanted...

How should Christians vote, if at all?

Photo credit: Dale Jackson, www.StratoArt.com Should Christians vote? Yes! "And He [Jesus] said to them,  'Whose likeness and inscription is this?'  They said to Him,  'Caesar's.'  Jesus said to them,  'Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.' And they marveled at Him.' " ~Mark 12: 17 ( ESV ) As Christians, we ought to marvel at Jesus’ desire for the separation of Church and State. And we must desire the same. We rightly separate Church and State by giving to God what is His (Luke 10:27), and giving the world, what belongs to it; our freedoms in Christ to obey His precepts and bless the world by supporting those who uphold God’s laws for the protection and provision of His saints (see Gen 41:37-41, 45:7-8; Jeremiah 25:8-9; Is 44:28, 45:1). Throughout biblical history, when God’s people have waned from wholeheartedly following His Word, He lifted up pagan leaders (e.g., Pharaoh...

'180' transforming hearts and saving lives: An interview with Ray Comfort

On September 26, 2011, Ray Comfort , Founder, President and CEO of Living Waters Publications (LWP) launched the “180” movie; a 33-minute documentary that transforms hearts with the Gospel of Jesus Christ , and provides historical information that’s helping save unborn babies' lives. In only four short months, “180” has been translated into 19 languages, has had more than 2.1 million views on  YouTube , more than 36,000 “likes” on its active  Facebook page, with more than 7,000 people sharing and interacting with other avid pro-lifers and members of the “180” team. I was recently blessed to interview Ray Comfort, who’s become a modern day William Wilberforce for the pro-life movement. Just as William Wilberforce worked tirelessly to abolish the enslavement of innocent men, women and children, Ray Comfort works tirelessly to abolish the murdering of millions of innocent pre-born babies. I absolutely love this movie and urge everyone to watch it and share it. ...

Cynthia Paap: My "trophy" of God's grace

I read this note on Facebook and was so touched by it, I contacted Cynthia and asked if I could share her intimate story of the grave news she received about her baby, the strong suggestion to abort him and the conclusion the Lord brought her to. Get some tissues, and get ready to experience a story you'll never forget. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My heart is heavy this morning. I feel the need to finally share this story with you, in hopes that it will reach someone who needs to hear it. April 13, 2010: A doctor brought in the images from my MRI and put them up on a big screen where we could clearly see our baby's spine had stopped forming at the 5th lumbar. She said, "Everything from here down is going to have issues. You'll need to catheterize him at a minimum of every 2 hours, and give him enemas every morning, and lifelong diapers. I can't stress to you enough the importance of catheterization. And in addition to the bowel and urinar...

Abortions and its effect on marriages: The ugly and rarely spoken truths

Though 18.4% of abortions are performed on married women, the aftermath of the abortion  and its effect on her and her husband are rarely discussed, researched or published. There are many arguments for abortion , but none of them are sufficient to relieve the husband or wife’s unbearable grief from participating in their own child’s death. Most abortions are performed within the first trimester, during the time the baby is not viable. This is an elementary argument. Why? Because it is common knowledge that babies are not capable of surviving independently, from the day they are born and at least, up until they are three years old. If a parent does not feed, cloth and provide adequate shelter for a child within this age range, the child will die. Every mother and father knows this is true. When is a baby considered alive? Are life and death processes or events? They are both events. You are either alive or you are dead. And nothing dead ever continues to grow and de...

180 Movie: Pro-Choice to Pro-Life in seconds!

abort ( verb ) - to cause to cease or terminate. To abort or not to abort...that is the question. But what is the answer? I mean, the right answer? Whether you ask an unbeliever or sadly, even professing Christians this question, the answer varies. It seems odd that a Bible believing Christian would support the "choice" for a woman to abort, that is, terminate the life of her unborn baby, but many professing Christians have no problem with this. Why? I believe it is because both professing Christians and unbelievers have been deceived by the devil to think that because we cannot see life and because this life is not ready to be birthed from the mother's womb, the baby is not really alive. But how can something or someone that is growing and developing be dead? Have you ever seen anything in all creation, a plant, a virus, an animal that was dead, continue to develop? No. Only that which is living is capable of growing and developing, just as the baby in the mother'...
