My Second Love: Biblical Submission & The Proverbs 31 Woman

My Second Love  was written out of my love for God and for all my sisters in Christ whom the Lord has inspired to travel the road of biblical submission, so together we may raise our voices as one (Ex 24:3, Rom 15:6); giving praise, glory and honor only to Jesus our Supreme and First Love; enabling us to biblically honor our husbands as our Second Love. You can access these lessons by viewing the "Table of Contents" from the navigation menu on the left sidebar of the study's website at: www.mysecondlove.net . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Biblical submission is: A beautiful gift for your husband and a precious offering to God. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Praise the LORD! I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart, in the company of the upright, in the congregation. Great are the works of the LORD, studied by all who delight in them. Full of splen...

Creating a pop-up music player for your site

As many of you have noticed, I've totally revamped the site and renamed it to: Abandoned to Christ (which has been my signature for years, so it just made sense). I enjoy sharing content that the Lord leads for me, whether they be articles, Scripture pictures, photographs or anything else God gives me so I can create an atmosphere that rightly reveals the kindness, mercy, grace and peace of God that all His children should exhibit, whether in person or online. I revamped my blog to a more simplistic, beautiful, user-friendly and easily navigable site. While you're here, I want you to enjoy your visit with some lovely music that will establish the same peace I try to maintain in my home. The only problem I've found with music players is that every time you refresh the screen by moving from one article to another, the music player refreshes as well. So my youngest son, Kevin (Senior in high school) suggested I make my music player a pop-up so it wo...

Thanksgiving with in-laws or outlaws?

Original digital art created by Dale Jackson, www.StratoArt.com It’s ironic that during this time of year, Thanksgiving and Christmas—a time that should generate hearts filled with gratitude and joy, often bring the opposite; hearts filled with envy, covetousness, bitterness, clamor, slander, gossip and hostility. And all this, by way of our in-laws (or outlaws) that many of us only see during this time of year. In the beginning of every marriage, everyone is usually on their best behavior, but as time goes by, “familiarity breeds contempt”. This is not only true within relationships, but it happens with special occasions that were meant to stir a person’s heart toward humility and gratitude; two things that are much needed, yet extremely lacking in our world today. We all have in-laws and some of us have outlaws for relatives. And, if we’re honest, some of us are the outlaws. You know, the ones who breed quarrels, who incite jealousy and gossip among our family ...

My article published at (in)courage today!

Hello beloved friends! Just a quick note to let you know that my article My heart, Christ's garden has been published at DaySpring's women's devotional site, (in)courage. Here's an excerpt: “The genuine Christian must seek to be more excellent in his life than the best moralist, because Christ’s garden ought to produce the best flowers in the world.” ~ Charles Haddon Spurgeon I want my heart to be this way. I want my heart to produce the most beautiful and luscious flowers! I want my life to flow with the love of God and the magnificence of His grace and mercy! I want my life to shout, “I am holy, set apart; unto the LORD!” I want my heart to hold a reservation only for One, my Lord Jesus. I want to be singularly focused and eternally inclined. I want to be like the flowers in my garden. I want to only face the Son. I want to stretch my faith and strain my efforts to have a leaning only towards the One who gave His life for mine.... To read the entire ar...

Falling For Jesus - Captivated!

Ahhh….falling in love with Jesus, how can I count the ways? I cannot. For Who the Lord Jesus is, and all that He has done for me; there is no number, and no way to measure the splendor of His majesty. Therefore, how can a person ever choose one moment, one time, one instance, over any other: to recall and share His greatness, His kindness, His faithfulness? I believe this is difficult for any of us. As even the Apostle John felt the same way, for he chose to close his gospel letter with this profound and true statement: “Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.” ~ John 21:25 (ESV) The memory I have chosen to share with you, is not one of extraordinary circumstance. Instead, I wanted to share one occasion that best depicts the epitome of my daily life, with my exceptional Savior, Jesus, the Christ. Several years ago, as I was driving home one morn...
