Christ in the Tabernacle

The tabernacle was the foreshadowing of our awesome Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who fulfilled the purpose of every element in the tabernacle. Jesus: Entered from the East Became the perfect Lamb of God as He sacrificed Himself for the salvation of our sinful souls so that we could enter into the court [Genesis 22:8, John 1:29, Revelation 5:2-14] Jesus washed our hands and feet [Psalm 24:3-4, Isaiah 52:7], allowing us to enter into the Holy Place He is the bread of Life, the Presence of God incarnate [John 6:31-35, 2 Corinthians 4:4] Jesus is the Light of the world [John 8:12] He is our holy intercessor and the pure aroma that is so pleasing to the Father [Hebrews 7:25-28] His body was the veil that separated the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place; when he died, when He was torn, Christ made a way for us to enter into the Holy of Holies [2 Corinthians 3:14-18, Hebrews 10:19-22] The top of the Ark of the Covenant is called the "mercy seat". God would meet wit...

WFW - Walk in Love ~ Fragrant Offering

What does it mean for us to "walk in love"? Does it mean that we should all walk around as if we were floating on cloud 9, filled with romantic and idealistic thoughts about our lives and relationships? What does it mean for us to be a "fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."? Does it mean that we are to abstain from anything and everything that brings us pleasure; wear drab clothes and a permanent expression on our faces that tell the world how miserable we are being children of the Most High God, living in a sin infested world? Short answer to both these questions are assuredly in Christ - NO! When I read Ephesians 5:1-2, one of the first things that come to mind is the tabernacle and the altar of incense that was placed on the west side of the Holy Place, and stood in front of the curtain/veil of the Most Holy Place (or the Holy of Holies). The LORD said to Moses, "Take sweet spices, stacte, and onycha, and galbanum, sweet spices with pure frankince...

The Miracle of Life

Our God is truly an awesome God!

Biblical Review of The Shack

Thank you for joining me in this biblically-based, interactive review of The Shack by Wm. Paul Young. If you’re reading this, please know that I’ve been praying for you in accordance with Psalm 86:11-12. I encourage you to pray this as well. Why is this "interactive"? It is interactive because I will ask you to pause, read, and meditate on the Scriptures noted throughout this review. The Holy Spirit has led me to write in this manner so you may read God’s word for yourself first, then you can read the excerpts from The Shack . Please pause now and read 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21 and 1 John 4:1 ; then pray and ask our gracious Father God for wisdom (James 1:5) so that we may rightly discern His voice and receive with humble and grateful hearts His words of life and truth. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the ...

What is blasphemy and heresy?

Many of us who "grew up in the church" are familiar with words like  blasphemy and heresy, but aren't sure what they mean,  how God applies them in His word, and how He expects us to apply them in our daily lives as His holy and dearly loved children. "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain." ~ Exodus 20:7 "But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction." 2 Peter 2:1 In order to gain what God's usage of blasphemy and heresy are, we'll take a look at how these words (in their various forms) are used in Scripture as well as the original Hebrew and Greek. blasphemy   n.  ~ 1. profane or contemptuous speech, writing, or action concerning God or anything held...

The Trinity and Hierarchy

Not only is it a daunting task for anyone to assume to describe the holy Trinity of God, but it is also one that will never be complete by any human efforts; for God alone is God, there is no other and (as we discussed a few days ago), our finite minds will never be able to fully grasp the greatness of an infinite God. "To whom will you liken Me and make Me equal, and compare me, that we may be alike? ~ Isaiah 46:5 "I realized that no one can discover everything God is doing under the sun. Not even the wisest people discover everything, no matter what they claim." ~ Ecclesiastes 8:17 (NLT) According to Scripture, our limited minds are incapable of fully understanding all the visible works of God here on earth; therefore I don't think it's a stretch to conclude that we'll never be able to fully comprehend the qualities, nature and character of our invisible and awesome Creator, the Lord God Almighty. With much fear and reverence for our LORD, I wil...

I Have Seen the LORD

Beloved brothers and sisters in the Lord Jesus Christ, As I was studying this morning and meditating on God's word, the Holy Spirit was so gracious to take me to the Scriptures where God our Father reveals Himself to us in His deity, His holiness, His sovereignty, righteousness and matchless nature; and how every person who has "seen" God in His majesty responds. They are all different people, but all have the same reaction from being in His holy presence: humility and fear. " Thus says the LORD: Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows Me , that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the LORD ." ~ Jeremiah 9:23-24 If I may, I'd like to share these Scriptures with you so that our hearts might be united to fear (r...
