A disturbing trend within Christendom is the focus and emphasis on Satan and his work in this world, instead of the supreme work of God and His powerful and glorious manifestation of Christ's life in His children (Gal 2:20, Col 1:27).

There's no biblical foundation for this strange, yet prevalent fascination with satanical work and the powers of evil which have caused many Christians to include in prayer...yes, prayer communications with Satan, i.e., "Dear Lord, help _____ as they suffer. And Satan, we bind and forbid you to..."

Our focused thoughts and meditations are supposed to be on the Almighty and what He has done for us through Christ—all that is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent and worthy of praise (Philippians 4:8). Accordingly, our minds are to be captivated by Christ and His magnificence, not Satan and his wickedness (John 16:33, 2 Cor 10:5).

Two of the main reasons I believe Christians are enslaved and crippled by fear rather than soar in faith (Is 40:31) is because:

1. There's too much concentration that the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion seeing whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8), instead of focusing on the first part of 1 Peter 5:8 which says, "Be sober-minded; be watchful". Rather than read God's Word in context, we ignore the powerful exhortation from our Father and spotlight our enemy's activities, giving special attention to the works of darkness and our emotions.
2. We're prideful and unrepentant. We prefer to blame all our sins and the sins of others on Satan, rather than consider that Satan is probably not even involved in our lives because we sin so well without him. We forget the greatest enemy we have is within ourselves and not outside of us (cf. Romans 7:15-25).

Our pride, self-righteousness and sense of entitlement causes us to believe all of us have every and/or any spiritual gift we desire, and power to do whatever we deem fit and necessary. Rather than take pride and boast in Christ alone, we take pride and boast in the title "Christian". In doing so, we foolishly forget the one who called us to Himself also called us to humility, sacrificial love and slaves to righteousness (Lk 10:20).

It is not fitting for a child of God to boast in what we think we can do, but our boasting should be in the One who freed us from the captivity of our depraved minds and our flesh's sinful desires; living by the power of Christ and the will of God the Father, who does all things in accordance with His Word (Jer 9:23-24, 1 Peter 4:11).

In the passage below, we see that Satan is flustered because he is bound by God Almighty alone and must have God's permission to work any evil against God's people, and even so, is limited by God to the degree of affliction that he can impose upon one of God's chosen.

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. The Lord said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.” And the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?” Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for no reason? Have You not put a hedge around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will curse You to Your face.” And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your hand. Only against him do not stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.

~Job 1:6-12

Again, God reveals to us how even the archangel Michael, who sees the face of God (which we do not) and has greater power than us, dealt with the devil.

Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ....Yet in like manner these people also, relying on their dreams, defile the flesh, reject authority, and blaspheme the glorious ones. But when the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, was disputing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you.” But these people blaspheme all that they do not understand, and they are destroyed by all that they, like unreasoning animals, understand instinctively.

~Jude 1:3-4, 8-10

Finally, Luke records what can happen to foolish and presumptuous people who have no true faith in God, nor do they humbly submit to His authority, but arrogantly desire to appropriate Jesus' all-powerful and holy name to do their bidding.

Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists undertook to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “I adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul proclaims.” Seven sons of a Jewish high priest named Sceva were doing this. But the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?” And the man in whom was the evil spirit leaped on them, mastered all of them and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

Acts 19:13-16

Rather than cast out the evil spirit, these foolish and arrogant sons of Sceva experienced a terrible and frightening reverse type of exorcism. Instead of commanding the spirits, they were overcome by them (Proverbs 16:8).

Listen to this short 2-minute clip by Pastor John MacArthur regarding such practices by false teachers and preachers and sadly, even true children of God who have been seduced to believe they can pronounce any judgment or command over any spirit—without any authority; therefore without any power to make anything they say come to pass.

I share all this not as one over any of you, or better than any of you, for there was a time I too, was seduced by my pride and false teaching to pray the same way. But now I shudder to think that I used to include Satan in my prayers, rather than pray to the LORD Almighty alone, who graciously and mercifully hears and listens to my pleas (Ps 116:1-2).

Satan doesn't listen to me or you simply because we are Christians. None of us have any authority or power over Satan or his demons without positively knowing we've been given that authority directly by Jesus Himself. Only Christ the risen Lord has all authority and power to command evil spirits, and He appointed only 14 apostles (including Judas Iscariot, Matthias who took Judas' place and Paul) and various others while He was still here (Lk 9:49-50) to have authority over evil spirits.

I assure you, neither Satan nor his demons are afraid of me. And they're not afraid of you either. But they do shudder at the presence of the Almighty and obeyed the few whom Christ gave authority. And because of God's great mercy and protection on His often foolish children, the demons cannot do to us what they did to the sons of Sceva who were not believers.

However, let us be careful not to give way to our pride and continue this blasphemous practice because God keeps us even while we play the fool. If we claim to love the Lord Jesus, and truly abide in Him, it ought to pierce our hearts and wrench your souls to know that believers who entertain this vile practice, give cause for God's holy name and word to be reviled.

So next time you think Satan is "attacking" you, do what God says, resist him (James 4:7) and turn to your Heavenly Father and ask Him for His protection, guidance and binding of Satan, that is of course, if it is His will.

So let's recap. In the past nine years: I've had 4 surgeries; 6 ER visits; 5 colonoscopies and endoscopies; 4 hospital admits; multiple biopsies of my stomach and esophagus; one biopsy of skin and muscle (from my thigh); one biopsy of my liver; countless MRI's of my brain and spinal column; multiple CT Scans, sonograms, x-rays and other procedures; one MRA of my brain;  a cholecystectomy due to sepsis; partial hysterectomy due to enlarged uterus with polyps and menorrhagia; lumbar surgery with a double discectomy and spinal fusion; cervical spine surgery with triple discectomy and spinal fusion.

Over the course of these eight years I've been diagnosed with: NAFLD (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease); hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol and high triglycerides); eosinophilia; RA (rheumatoid arthritis), but only for three years because the Lord chose to completely heal me of that disease overnight; kidney stones; torn calf muscle due to a 3.5 hour charley  horse; torn masseter muscle in my left jaw; torn tendon in my right elbow; severe Vitamin B12 and D deficiencies where my body no longer absorbs, stores or metabolizes these vitamins through foods and sunlight (vitamin D) in a usable form for my body to function normally. All this prevents my organs and soft tissue (muscles, tendons, discs, etc.) to be weak and easily worn or torn.

I have to get my blood drawn and tested every three months (or sometimes more often whenever I get "sick"). I also have to daily take large dosages of vitamins, enzymes and prescription medications and make sure I get a lot of rest in order to keep me alive and functioning as "normal" as possible. I exercise regularly and eat well, and all my doctors (I have many) have told me that there's really nothing more I can do to help my situation. This is just the way my body works...or more accurately...doesn't work.

Multiple doctors have told me multiple times that they were afraid I as going to die and there was nothing they could do to stop it because they can't find the cause. This is when I tell them that I know I'm dying...and so are they. I may die sooner than some, but we're all going to die one day because every human being who has lived, is living, or will live on this planet (except for Christ) is infected with the most deadly and nearly incurable disease—sin, that is, the inability to be holy by perfectly keeping and obeying God's law and meeting His standard of perfection.

We live in a sin-filled world because it's inhabited by sin-filled people, with some who are aware of this deadly disease, and few that have come to know the one and only Cure; faith in Jesus Christ, the only Son of God.

Throughout this journey of health crisis, I've learned more about God's grace, mercy, immeasurable love and compassion and His exceeding kindness toward the least deserving and most wretched person I know...me.

Some have said this isn't fair and others have asked why God would allow such horrible things to happen to me.

To say this isn't fair or to question God's allowance for what we deem to be "bad" or "evil" is to assume two erroneous thoughts:

1. That I'm a good person and deserve good things (Rom 3:10);
2. That God owes me (Job 41:11).

"Who has first given to Me, that I should repay him? Whatever is under the whole heaven is Mine...Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and how inscrutable His ways!

'For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been His counselor?'

'Or who has given a gift to Him that He might be repaid?'

For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen."

~Job 41:11, Rom 11:33-36

"For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness,and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins."

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them...Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling  for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work  for His good pleasure.

Do all things without grumbling or questioning, that you may be  blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world"

~Eph 2:10, Philippians 2:112-15 (emphasis mine)

Is there life after death? Are we reincarnated and come back as something else depending on the kind of life we previously lived? Can the dead rise back to life? Is there really a Heaven and Hell?

The answers are: yes, there is life after death; no,  reincarnation isn't real; and yes, when a person dies, they will be resurrected either to eternal life in Heaven with God, or eternal damnation in Hell with Satan and his demons (John 5:28-29).

Two days ago, we rejoiced in the reason why Good Friday is so good—because, once and for all, the penalty for sin was paid in full for those who by faith, repent and trust their lives to Jesus (Hebrews 10:10).

“For if we have been united with Him [Christ] in a death like His, we shall certainly be united with Him in a resurrection like His. We know that our old self was crucified with Him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For one who has died has been set free from sin. Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him. We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death He died He died to sin, once for all, but the life He lives He lives to God. So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus."

~Romans 6:5-11

Marriage is created and defined by God, not man.

"Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error."

• stop shopping at Target, Kohl's and most grocery stores;
• stop driving cars, using your phones, computers, tablets and such;
• boycott Staples, Walmart, and Sam's Club;
• stop using any public transportation or paved roads, and so much more, because the people who own or run these companies all support some principle that violates our holy God's precepts and they employ people who do the same.

Faithful and beloved saints of Christ Jesus, I need your prayer support again.

Okay, it's confession time. Most of you may not know this, but I'm an ardent introvert. I like love being alone and I love the quiet. Being with a group of more than one other person makes me nervous...sometimes even one other person makes me nervous, depending on who they are.

Most of my life, I've loved silence and precious times of meditating on God's word. And none of this is because I'm such a wonderfully strong Christian. No, it's because I'm selfish and prideful and I don't like to think of others or really put myself in situations where other people can see or hear me; it's my way of avoiding any kind of criticism, constructive or not.

I like to be safe. And being alone with God is always the safest place to be, but it's not always the place He calls us to.

The verses after the above passage tell us that Jesus then took the three (Peter, James and John) down the mountain to heal a demon-possessed boy. And this is what He calls us to do as well. Our Lord calls his disciples up the mountain to spend refreshing and glorious time with Him, then He commands us to go back down to a sin-filled land where there are a multitude that need the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Remaining in a holy huddle is not an option. But it is utter disobedience.

Throughout the gospels, we read that Jesus spent much of His time serving and teaching others. Then He would slip away to desolate places so He could pray (Mk 1:35, Lk 5:16).

Two things my Lord has taught me through this is:

I never set out to be a writer. I never set out to do anything that would draw attention to myself. I don't like that. It makes me queasy. If I had to describe myself with other biblical figures, I'd have to say that I'm a strange mix of Moses and Jonah. I can't speak with eloquence and I'm often stiff-necked and slow to obey.

But, I'm getting old and tired of being a schizophrenic version of Moses and Jonah. Tomorrow, I'll be 44 and it'll mark my 40th year of walking with the Lord. That's my favorite part of this birthday! I love that God saved me when He did and I love looking back and recounting all His goodness to me and those around me (Ps 9:1-2). God has given me a beautiful life and I wouldn't trade it in for the world.

In the Bible, God uses the number 40 as a time for preparation (e.g., Moses' 40 years in Midian before being called by God to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, 40 days and 40 nights on the mountain receiving the 10 commandments, Jesus' 40 days and 40 nights of fasting) and even in how God creates human beings—a baby develops in his/her mother's womb for 40 weeks. So I've been wondering if God has been preparing me for something different than what I've been doing in the safety of my home, behind my computer.

I've prayed and asked and haven't received a clear answer yet, but like I said, I want to be more like Abraham and not like that crazy mix of Moses and Jonah, so I'm content to wait on the Lord for what is ahead, if, that is, He chooses to reveal it all to me. And even if He only chooses to reveal one step at a time rather than allow me to see the entire path, I am satisfied (Ps 119:105).

Since I trust in the One who is leading me through this journey I have resolved to follow...immediately, without hesitation, no matter how dreadful the situation might make me feel. I will follow, because I know my Father in Heaven is sovereign, He is good and He loves me; that makes all my steps secure (Ps 40:1-3).

May the Lord God be glorified through this interview and may the name of Jesus Christ be high and lifted up. Let us all, make much of Jesus rather than ourselves.

After Frank Sontag's best friend sent him a link to my review on the History Channel's not-"The Bible" mini-series, and after much prayer, Frank was led to contact me and request an interview.

Due to the gravity of the deception of this docudrama that is filled with heresy and blasphemy, many saints have been deceived by it's lure, as a valid source to share the Gospel with the lost world.

Unfortunately, this is the false gospel where there's no confession of sin, no repentance and therefore no evidence or need for God's grace and mercy and especially no need for forgiveness; which means there is no salvation that is only found in Christ Jesus the Lord.

After my review, I received many comments and emails from readers all over the world who were both grateful and hateful towards my publishing this review. Nonetheless, I continue to stand by God's word, regardless of praise of ridicule, I am resolved to my Father's call to remain steadfast and immovable—contending for the faith.

It's been a painful and joyous past few weeks as the Lord has kindly endured me through friendly fire and kept me grateful for those who have ears to hear the true message of Christ and have removed their endorsements and promotions of this wicked film that was created and produced by unbelievers.

God has brought me much comfort through the prayers and support of many faithful saints who love God's word and take Him just as seriously as He commands us. I am immensely grateful to the Lord for allowing me to travel this road with other soldiers of the Cross.

One of these soldiers is my brother Frank Sontag.

Many of you may be familiar with Frank Pastore as he was Major League Baseball pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds (1979-1985) , Minnesota Twins (1986) and Texas Rangers (1987). Soon after this, Frank came to know Christ as his Lord and Savior, authored a book and started a radio program to exhort saints in Christ to live every day for the Lord who gave His life for us, so that we live fully in Him.

In November of 2012, Pastore was involved in a serious motorcycle accident that sent him Home to be with our Lord Jesus in December of 2012. After this accident, KKLA contacted Frank Sontag to ask him to be one of the guest-host for Pastore's show.

Frank Sontag has been in the radio and motivational speaking industry for 21 years. Sontag was raised in a Roman Catholic environment, but after he had a serious motorcycle accident in 1984, he began to wonder why he survived and what purpose did his life serve. He turned away from his Roman Catholic upbringing and was inclined to the New Age spirituality teachings until God saved Him through repentance and faith in Christ in 2009.

Our brother Frank now lives to honor and glorify God in all he does. He has a passion to preach the true Gospel of Christ (as he lived most of his life in deception with the false gospel) and lives to exhort fellow saints of the Lord Jesus to do the same.
