A Woman Worthy To Be Praised

Tomorrow is Mother's Day, a day where many mother's will be honored and celebrated by her children, husbands, other family members, friends and even some online friends the Lord has allowed. It'll be a beautiful day, but is this all that it's about? Is Mother's Day, a day only to honor our earthly mothers or be honored ourselves? Or is a day, another day we get to give thanks to God for His inexpressible Gift of Christ (2 Cor 9:15)? It's a tough question even for me to answer because like everyone else, I like to be praised, applauded, honored, appreciate and noticed. I like being made to feel special. Don't we all? About four years ago when I was in the midst of nearly daily doctor's appointments and serious and painful tests, I prayed to the LORD for help and He led me to a faithful sister in Christ, Rachel Barkey . Rachel, a wife and mother of two young children, fiercely battled breast cancer for more than four years. Only a few months...

Movie Review and Interview with Ray Comfort on 'Noah': the Biblically Accurate Version

www.NoahtheMovie.com On Friday, February 28, 2014 Ray Comfort and his Living Waters staff released for download, their latest movie/documentary, "Noah—And the Last Days" . This film is not a reenactment of the life of the historical Noah, but a refreshing 30-minute movie that biblically and accurately depicts how the life of this righteous man is pertinent to our world today. "Noah" includes 10 biblical prophecies (which I share below), the true Gospel of Jesus Christ and interviews from ordinary people like you and me. Unfortunately, there's another movie on the horizon about Noah. This movie, starring Russell Crow, was produced by Hollywood and will be opening in theaters the same day (March 28) Ray Comfort's Noah movie will be available on YouTube and DVD. As expected, Hollywood maligned the character of Noah; the one whom God said was the only righteous man of his time. "The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the e...

180 movie review: to abort or not to abort

To abort or not to abort...that is the question. But what is the answer? I mean, the right answer? It’s amazing how many people establish an opinion on important issues without having all the facts. If we're honest, we'll all admit, everything we hear or read in the media isn't “the whole truth and nothing but the truth”. The media (depending on the source), will either skew facts or completely dismiss some, so the public will have no choice but to agree with the media representative's opinion. Personally, I don't believe the American people are so feeble-minded. I believe whether Christian or non-Christian, we're all endowed by our Creator with a conscience that allows us to distinguish between right and wrong. And if we're provided with accurate information regarding any issue, we are capable of making decisions that are right in the sight of God.  Almost one and a half years ago (September 26, 2011),  Living Waters Publications  (LWP) rele...

Sexual Immorality Promotes Abortion, Dignity Promotes Life

No longer be deceived by Planned Parenthood's lies.   January 22, 2013 marked the 40 year anniversary of Roe v. Wade ; since that day, nearly 60 million innocent, unborn babies have been slaughtered within, what ought to be the safest place on earth—their mother's womb. There are three basic positions on the topic of abortion: Pro-Life , Pro-Choice and what I call, "Pro-Inbetweeners". Pro-Life:   life begins at conception ; babies are gracious gifts from God Almighty to the mother and father, whether or not they're deserving of such a precious gift; all human beings are created in God's image, therefore abortion, that is, terminating the life of an unborn child, should not be allowed for any reason; whether rape, incest, disabilities or even the possible death of the mother if she carries the child to full-term. Pro-Choice:  the beginning of life is relative and uncertain; the unborn baby is considered a living being only when he/she is "wanted...

Drawing Near: A poem of worship, prayer and praise

I used to write poems all the time. It's something the Lord gave me to do while He endured me through some of the darkest and most violent times in my life. While there were many external forces working against me, God's word and the hope in Christ sustained me through the tempest. The Lord graciously drew me to seek His face, worship Him in love and truth, and brought me His incomprehensible peace. The love of God, always quieted my heart (Zeph 3:17) and lifted my soul to remember what is greater than all that is in this world...the Lord Jesus Christ and the richness of the gift of God in Jesus. Today, during my praise and quiet time, I read Ephesians 1:3-19 with vv. 17-19 inspiring me to write this poem that is my prayer for me, and all the saints who are in Christ. May we who have been chosen by the Most High God as His dearly and beloved children, resolve to live abandoned to Christ (Gal 2:20); for His glory, His praise and exaltation alone—for He alon...

The President's speech: The beginning of the end?

By the awesome grace and indelible mercies of our great and sovereign God, our country has stood strong and vibrant for nearly 237 years. In those years, never has there been a leader of this country in which the public has been more enamored with; enough to attribute to him the holy nature and names that Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords, alone, is worthy to behold. Even as nefarious as this sounds it's not the most abominable behavior. No, the most abominable behavior is that the President allows people to wickedly refer to him as "our "lord and savior" (Jamie Foxx, 2012 Soul Train Music Awards, video below). Joining Jamie Foxx's blasphemous statement, Newsweek's January 18, 2013 cover, dubbed the President's second inauguration as the "second coming". If these atrocities aren't enough to cause you to fall on your knees and pray for the souls of the lost (which includes our President and his family), then you mu...

Popular saying, 'Let go and let God' is not biblical

My wonderful and wise husband posted this on our family's Facebook ministry page yesterday and I was so encouraged by it, I wanted to share what it with all of you. Read. Listen. Be blessed. "Commit your way to the LORD, trust in him, and he will act" ~Psalm 37:5 This verse stands in stark contrast to a popular phrase in the church today, "Let go and let God". We usually hear this phrase related to a difficult trial we may be going through, even our struggle to die to ourselves, our sinful desires. Just stop worrying about it and let God take care of everything...so the thinking goes. In his book, The Discipline of Grace, Jerry Bridges writes, "There's no question that we are responsible to pursue holiness with all the intensity the word pursue implies. Every moral imperative in the Bible addresses itself to our responsibility to discipline ourselves unto godliness. We aren't just to 'turn it all over to the Lord' ...

Genius: A new MUST SEE movie by Living Waters

Hello friends, Guess what? Ray Comfort and the Living Waters staff have created another inspiring movie that will cause you to examine your hearts (2 Cor 13:5), and exhort you to be holy as the Lord our God is holy (1 Peter 1:15-16). "Genius" gives insight into the life of John Lennon, and according to Ken Mansfield (the ex-U.S. Apple manager for the Beatles) "[It] will open your eyes." Reviewers of the pre-release are giving it two thumbs up. Best-selling author, Randy Alcorn, said it is "Fast-paced, thought-provoking and compelling." World Net Daily's Joseph Farah responded with, "You have outdone yourself!" while Ted Baehr of Movieguide called it "An entertaining and challenging insight…watch and wonder." Ray Comfort said he was amazed to discover that the Beatles aren't simply a rock group from a by-gone era, but that they are appealing to a new generation. "They have sold more than 2,303,500,000 r...

Pastor Voddie Baucham on adoption, abortion and President Obama

This is an amazingly honest and and heartfelt testimony regarding the truths about adoption, abortion and President Obama and his position (or lack thereof) on the right that every human being should have: the right to life. Please watch and share this very short, yet extremely important video by Texas Right to Life. Pray for our country, and fervently pray about who you'll be voting for in this year's election. Never have it on your conscience that your vote went to someone who supports the killing of innocent, unborn babies; for this is an abomination before the sight of God.

True or false convert...which one are you?

To purchase this DVD, click this link: True and False Conversion Is your assurance based on your own convictions; a prayer you said one day, or are you resting your assurance in the Person of Christ alone and what He said and did? Unfortunately, our country is brimming with beautiful church buildings, both large and small that are filled with false converts, birthed through the preaching of the false gospel which only makes a person feel good, yet void of the power to make a person be good. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying anyone can ever be good, for only God is good (Mark 10:18). But what I am saying is, upon true conversion through faith in Christ alone, God imputes the righteousness of His perfect, one and only begotten Son upon a wretched soul. Prior to salvation, no one has the choice to please God, that is, do good. Of course, people are able to do some "nice" things for one another, but since God alone is good, anything or anyone absent of God...

Come visit with me...

....at my sweet sister-friend LauraLee's Faith-filled Friday! I'm her guest vlogger (video blogger) today, sharing a story of how God tested and strengthened my faith when our youngest son (now 16) was hit by a car (at age 6) and nearly died. It's a short 6 minute video and I pray that God will use it to bless you, strengthen you and exhort you to press on toward the goal in which He has called all His children heavenward in Christ Jesus our Lord! Click the link below and come visit with me! LauraLee's Faith-filled Fridays | Guest: Sunny Shell "In Him [Christ] we have obtained and inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, so that we who were first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of His glory. In Him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the Gospel of your salvation, and believed in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our i...

Loving the Unlovable

For many of us, the phrase, "Love the unlovable" is not new. It's noble, it's Christ-like and it is extremely difficult for most of us to faithfully and diligently do. "For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers [and sisters], what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." ~ Matthew 5:46-48 Like most people, I suffer from the great battle that wars within me to do what my Lord and Savior Jesus commands me to do—love the unlovable. I find myself struggling to extend love or kindness to someone who basically smacks me in the face with every opportunity they get. These are not the kind of people I naturally inclined to love, share God's kindness with or really, desire to be around...at all. These are usually the type of people I try to keep at least a 1-mile rad...

Death is Not Dying: A Faith That Saves

Dearest brothers and sisters in the Lord Jesus, I know I very rarely write personal notes, but I felt today, it was a good thing to do. It's been quite some time since I've written anything. And those of you who have been with me for a while have probably already figured out why...my health has once again taken a decline. Due to my severe vitamin B12 and D deficiencies and the inability for my body to absorb and maintain normal values of both, my doctors have decided it was wise to check my blood at least every three months. Of course, I've never quite made it three months without having my blood checked, but it is a something to look forward to. ☺ Back in December I was referred to yet another specialist - a pancreatic specialist, as it has become apparent my pancreas is not functioning well. Currently the pancreatic function test that is available is a very bad one and most often only detects a malady when 80% of the pancreas' function is no longer s...

Rachel Barkey: Now HOME With The LORD

I had planned on writing something else today. But I feel that what I will share today instead, was by God, and far more eternally important than an update on me. Many of you are faithfully praying for me and my family and have written to me asking for updates on how I'm doing. I cannot fully express how much your prayers mean to me and how much I see God answering your prayers on my behalf. You've given me such a great gift. I thank God for all of you with my whole heart. ♥ Because I can't write to all of you personally, I had planned on writing today about my latest struggles and how God continues to deliver me from them all; at least spiritually (being the most important), emotionally and mentally. I also wanted to thank both my sisters Heidi and Hope who awarded me with The True Heart blog award. But as the LORD woke me up very early this morning to have a six hour praise and quiet time with Him, He also brought me news that broke my heart. Today, I found ou...
