Hello my beautiful sisters, I need your prayers today! My sister-in-law and two of her 4 kiddos are coming to visit today and I'm very tempted to crawl off the altar and live against Romans 12:1 and Ephesians 5:1-2 . I've been continuously praying that I don't build up an idol of me! You know, creating an image of yourself that you want others to see? Have any of you fallen into that trap? If so, then please pray for me, what you'd like prayed for you! And don't worry, I will ABSOLUTELY NOT be insulted if you pray prayers of correction, discipline, refinement, etc. I so need those prayers...or how else will I ever grow? How else will I ever be conformed into the likeness of my Savior if I don't willingly submit to our Father's will and say, "Okay Lord, where do you want me to hold the chisel?" so that He can chip away all that is in me that doesn't resemble His Son? Hello again, dear precious sisters of mine! I'm sorry for getting this out so late, but I've been busy doing what Darlene suggested on her post today. I've had wonderful praise and quiet time, shorter than I'd like, but my time with God is His time with me...and His determination of how long it should be, I'm sure, is far better than mine! Since this is my first post for "Live Well", I'd like to begin with why I love it so much. It's because our sister Darlene has based this wonderful weight loss program on Christ and being fully surrendered to Him first ( Matthew 6:33 ). And I'm so grateful to God for her, because this is what I've always been looking for! I know with this weight loss program, I will not only lose the weight necessary to lead a healthy life, honoring to our gracious Father God, but I will keep it off since it's not founded on me and what I prefer to look like so I can feel better about myself. I am so thankful for my salvation! I am so grateful to our great Lord and God, Jesus Christ for having compassion on me, yet while I was still a sinner - in enmity with God the Father. In view of God's mercy upon me, I desire to lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and run with endurance the race that is set before me, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of my faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the Cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Beloved sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, I come to you today in great humility and gratitude as I consider the Cross. During my quiet time this morning with our great and awesome God, I couldn't help but be baffled and utterly grateful for His choosing me, as it is written: "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He may give it to you." ~ John 15:16 "If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you." ~ John 15:19 (emphasis added) With sober eyes, I see myself. Fire Proof is a the latest movie produced by Sherwood Pictures, a ministry of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, GA. Their first two movies were: Flywheel and Facing the Giants . Our family has seen and love the first two movies! We've even bought the DVD's so we can watch them over and over and over again. :-) Our family has also had the privilege of meeting the humble and God-honoring, God-fearing producers, writers and some of the actors (who are all church members) of the first two movies. The Kendrick brothers are both pastors at Sherwood Baptist Church and use their God-given gifts and talents for script writing and movie making to bring the greatest glory and honor to God! How refreshing! And what a miracle to find such a major motion picture in today's theaters! Only by God's grace was all this done and we are so grateful!!! Good morning dear sisters in the Lord! I had planned on writing a very different kind of post today. I had intended to write a post regarding a tip on how to live out Proverbs 31:12 with "How to Have a Simplified, Effective and Orderly Day" . A dear friend of mine gave this to me a couple of years ago and I was going to pass this on to all of you. Which I still intend to do....but not today. Today is not a day for that. It is a day of sorrow and grief for me, my family and my entire church family. You see, I just received news that a dear, young, sweet daughter of God, who was only 20 years old and just graduated from college last year, has gone Home to be with our awesome, righteous and good Heavenly Father. She is the oldest of seven children. Why did I say "is" and not "was"? Because my darling husband reminded me, she still is...just not with us....she still is....now with the Great I Am.
