Not Everyone Who Says, “Lord, Lord”
I've always heard, “Live every day as if it were your last.” On the surface, this statement sounds thoughtful, but looking deeper, its foundation is self-centered. Therefore, I'd like to propose another statement that I feel is more in line with God's word: Live each day as if it were everyone else's last day. If today was your husband's, you wife's, your children's, your mother's, father's, aunt's, uncle's, or best friend's last day, what would you do differently? What things would be important to you...enough to fight and argue about? What would you say to them and what would you do for them ? I guess before any of us can answer that question, we'd first have to consider, is this person saved? If they are, then I'm sure most of us would quickly humble ourselves and lavish them with the awesome love of Christ as He commanded us to do as His Church. WFW - Faith of A Child
This is a picture of our youngest son, joyfully looking forward to his first Christmas! He was eight months old when this picture was taken. Time has flown, and he will be fourteen years old, in just five more months. We've been witnessing to our sons and teaching them the ways of God, pretty much since they were conceived. We'd pray for them, read Scripture to them and tell them how much God loves them. I don't believe it's ever too early to teach our children about God, His saving grace and His merciful love, fully demonstrated in Jesus Christ our Lord. Jesus said in Matthew 18:2-4 "And calling to Him a child, He put him in the midst of them and said, 'Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. That Thing Called Sin - From the Heart of a Teen
It continues to amaze me at how our awesome God works in our children's hearts....especially teenagers! :-) The Bible says as the world gets older and the longer we're all here, the more sinful the world will become. I don't think there is anyone, believers or non-believers that wouldn't agree with that statement. We can all clearly see how wickedness has increased, in the form of incessant lying, lack of personal responsibility or repentance, self-absorption, self-glorification, sexual immorality, abortion, and so much more than I think I can list. In the midst of all this, as much as we'd LOVE to homeschool our boys or send them to a private Christian school, we cannot, since God has clearly told us to send our boys to public school. As parents, this is very difficult as I'm sure we all want our children to be in a warm, loving and Christ-exalting environment. To Live A Day....a personal journey
I'm praying about some different things I have on my heart and thoughts that have popped into my head to do with this blog. I want so much to encourage all of you as you hunger and thirst after the only One who can truly satisfy you - the Lord Jesus Christ. But before I do anything, I am in much prayer about this and would appreciate your prayers as well. I want everything I have and everything I do to represent Christ and Christ alone. I want nothing more than for the brilliance of His beauty to emanate through all He has given me. And I want to honor the "mission" He's given me for my life; which is the same mission for this blog. Absentee Voters and Absentee Visitors
Hello my beautiful sister in the Lord Jesus Christ! I wanted to remind everyone to vote your faith today. Vote based on your love and devotion for Christ, our Savior and not based on fear, personal comforts or the opinions of man - from the world, or even from well-meaning brothers and sisters in Christ. Search God's word, and seek His counsel as you would do with anything else in your life. Then rest in peace, trusting that God will never forsake His children. Please do not neglect your Christian duty to vote. It's better to be an absentee voter than to not vote at all.
