Oh my, oh my, oh my... indeed! What happened to "be holy, for I am holy." What happened to light not having anything to do with darkness? What happened to living as a new creation of God, in the Spirit of Christ and not as the old creature who lived enslaved by his/her own passions and lusts? What happened to living in this world yet not of it? What happened to being distinguished as children of the Most High God, rather than blending with the rest of the world? What happened to watching or listening to things that build up our faith, things that are innocent, pure and good; things that do not defile our minds with sordid images and our hearts with lyrics that only praise and promote self love? What happened to biblical Christianity? "Therefore, preparing your minds for action , and being sober-minded , set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ . As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of ...

Will the true Christians please stand up?
What does it mean to be a true Christian ? “Everything God thinks are called facts, everything we think are called opinions!” 1 John 5:3-4 “This is love for God; to obey His commands. And His commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.” Matthew 7:21-22 “Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in Heaven.” John 10:4-5 “When he [the Shepherd] has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” John 14:15-17, 26 “If you love Me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever – the Spiri...

U2 Have Hope
I've got to be the most blessed gal ever! Seriously, I think I am sometimes! God grants me so many joys in this life, often I feel as if I'm going to burst. I wonder sometimes how this temporal body can contain the glorious blessings from God without spontaneously combusting from it! Can you feel my excitement?! A dear friend and precious sister in our Lord Jesus Christ, Carrie Cooper has recently been granted by God, an open door into radio ministry...on two stations, 91.3 fm KDKR in Dallas/Ft. Worth and 94.7 fm KKIM in New Mexico . Both radio stations love her short 30 minute segment and have joyfully invited her to air U2 Have Hope on their stations. Naturally, living in this world, that takes money and a lot of prayer. Carrie is trusting God, who opened this door, to speak into the hearts of His faithful children to: fervently pray and ask others to pray also prayerfully consider financially supporting this ministry faithfully help to spread the word: in person, by ...

Pure Gospel math -- Jesus plus nothing equals everything!
A precious sister in the Lord, whom God has graciously given me to disciple, just shared this wonderful sermon from Tullian Tchividjian given at the 2010 Desiring God conference. Our faithful brother Tullian addresses three issues regarding the Gospel: Motivation - we need to be motivated to share the Gospel to share all that God has done for us in Christ Jesus and not what "good works" we can do in His name. Identity - Believing our sole identity is in Christ and His finished work and not in anything we do or what others say about us and what we should do, will provide us the true freedom Jesus suffered and died to give us. We already have God's favor Christ. We can't do anything to gain any more. What's more than Christ? Idolatry - There are more idols in the church than outside its walls. Many Christians today fall into Satan's trap that obedience and/or good works will provide more of God's grace and blessings. NO! We receive God's grace and ...

More than my Valentine
My darling husband is more than my Valentine. He is the second greatest gift to me from God; Jesus being the first and greatest of all. Just like many little girls, I used to dream about what my future husband would look like. Not just on the outside, but more importantly, on the inside. I would dream that my God would give me a husband who loved me well, more than he loved anyone. I dreamed he would work hard for our family and be the perfect father to our children. I dreamed he'd take me wherever I wanted to go and do whatever I desired. I dreamed that his every waking moments thoughts would be about me. I dreamed my perfect husband, would be more committed to me than he was to anyone or anything else. I just wanted someone all to myself, for myself. To me, that was the most perfect husband. Oh, and of course, he needed to be handsome beyond belief. That was understood. Well, one day I grew up. And found that most men were just as self-centered as I was and their dream wife w...

Defining a Meek and Quiet Spirit
Possessing a meek and quiet spirit is often misunderstood as someone who is either "shy" or someone who does nothing while witnessing injustice and evil befall others. This is not what our LORD God means when He says we ought to have meek and quiet spirits. For we know that our Lord Jesus was meek in every way , yet He whipped the money changers and turned over their tables when they were turning God's house of prayer into a den of robbers (John 2:14-16, Mark 11:15-19). Why did Jesus do this? Because He was purifying God's temple and He did it twice: once in the beginning of His earthly ministry during Passover, and the second time, right before His crucifixion. "Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy." ~Proverbs 31:8-9 Who are the "poor and needy"? We know who the physically poor and needy are because we can see them, b...

Please pray for Peter Helms
Most of us have heard or read these Scriptures: “yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.” ~James 4:14 “So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.” ~Psalm 90:12 But how often do we meditate on them and seriously consider them? Too often we hear “that will never happen to me.” Until one day, “it” does. We can either go along in this life as if we are invincible or we can go about our lives as if we have a divine purpose established for us by the only divine being, the LORD God Almighty. If we live with the idea that we are our own god and can do whatever pleases us, our lives are lived in vanity and self-exaltation. Peter Helms is a young man, who, by God’s grace, through faith in Jesus Christ, was saved at a young age during his elementary school years. He has trusted His Savior for everything...even now. On July 29, 2010, around 9 a.m., Peter was t-boned by a p...

I will worship through the pain.
I have a fairly new FB sister-friend ( Laury @ Between the Storms ) who suffers from a severe, chronic illness. This trial has brought her closer to the Lord where she has experienced His peace that surpasses all understanding. A couple of months ago, she asked me to share my testimony about the chronic illness I've been suffering for the past 7 years. I prayed about it and knew God wanted me to share something, but I had to wait until God allowed me to feel well enough to write what He's put on my heart. To read it, please click the button below: My prayer is that my story, that is, Jesus' story in my life, will be used to catapult you and/or those you love to a higher and deeper love for our awesome Savior.
