Hello my faithful sisters!

I would like to request prayers on behalf of all those who are in the path of Hurricane Ike. There are many in the Texas area, especially those near the Gulf that will suffer great loss...and prayerfully, that will not include lives.

Please also pray for me, my family and those around us as we are told that Ike will be a tropical storm by the time it reaches our area, with winds up to 35 mph to 45 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. There is also a possibility that we will experience isolated tornadoes and much inland flooding.

I'm off to put water in large coolers, plastic bins, etc. (so we can still go potty, in case of a power outage) and other emergency preparedness gear.

Thank you in advance for your prayers. I will be sure to update you as soon as possible.

May the LORD our God richly bless you for your faithful prayers!

By the way, Twinkies and Ho-Ho's are a necessary part of an Emergency Preparedness Kit, right?

running to my Strong Tower,

  2. Hi Sunny! You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers! It seems that the US weather is keeping a few of my online sisters in my prayers lately, and thankfully we have a God who is able to protect and provide! Love Paula :-)

  3. Hi Sunny-
Thanks for stopping by. It is a priviledge to pray for you and those around you. Let us know how you are doing when you can.

  4. Thank you all for your fervent prayers! I'm so grateful for your faithfulness to the Body of Christ!

Precious sister Roxanne, my husband and I are watching the news and I'm praying for God's protection over you and your family....ya'll are certainly getting it worse than we will tomorrow!

And I'm glad to know that your Emergency Preparedness Kit holds similar items as mine! *wink* *wink*

I dearly love you all and thank God for you!

  5. Sunny,
Twinkle Mom (from the Cafe) has evacuated...she's been texting me and keeping me up to speed...keep her and her family in your prayers, she had to leave her hubby behind due to his job.....she is with the inlaw's safely away from IKE...

    Ya'll be's looking mean!

Prayers going up....and you BETCHA...twinkies, ho-ho's, chocolate covered raisins, chocolate covered peanuts, chocolate......(and you know STUFF for THEM too! ;)!

    Ya'll be safe!

  6. Lori,

I'm holding back tears right now, after your reading your comment.

I'd like to pass on some encouragement for you to pass onto Twinkle Mom. My husband comforted me by telling me that her husband will be safe and is in a very strong building. My husband is in law enforcement and has had to do things similar, so he knows.

Please tell her we are fervently praying and that we know that God will keep her husband safe as He covers him with His wing.

Thank you for letting us know, so we can pray for her!

    Bless you sister,

  7. I love your blog Sunny, it's always such a blessing! I hope you don't mind, but I've chosen to "tag" you! You can read the details here:

    You are in my prayers!
