The Gift of A Bible

Wow! Many of you may have heard of Penn & Teller, the comedic, magician act. Penn has always been very open about being a devout atheist.

But still when someone, filled with love for God and men who were created in God's image gave this outspoken atheist a Bible, this is what happened.

May the Lord our God find all His children this obedient and full of compassion for the lost.

  1. I love how that seed was planted! God never ceases to amaze me.

By the way, Jesus is my hero, too. :)

  2. Praise God!!! That's incredible! So then, it really is our actions that speak louder than our words. And that man's certainly did. God bless him!

We can go all over the world or even so far as door to door, telling people about how they need to be saved or this or that, but if we can't show them why by our actions, we might as well be talking to brick walls.

I remember while playing down at the ocean front last summer there was this band of people holding this big sign and shouting at those passing to turn from their sin. Their motive wasn't necessarily bad, but it was their means that lacked. I admit, it actually made me angry because this was how all those people would perceive anyone that wanted to share the gospel with them further down the road. I almost wanted to go up to them and say, "how much more do you think it would help and effect these people to ask how you could pray for them instead of yelling at them?"

This guy may not believe in religion, but by what that man did, he now knows there was something real about it; about Christianity and hopefully Christ. And that's what Christianity is. Real. At least, it should be.

  3. His words about how can you not tell someone really got to me. How can you not? Praise God for this man who witnessed to Him in such a way that he was respected. My heart breaks to hear Penn say that he knows there is no God. He knows. Oh, I pray that his heart is opened and he receives Christ. Think of how much good he could do for Him! Thanks for sharing this, Sunny!
