Once again, Kim has inspired us to dig deeper into God's Word to shine His Light into our souls to reveal what is truly in us. "Whatever you do, work heartily , as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ ." ~ Colossians 3:23-24 (emphasis added) Today at Cafe Chat , Kim applies a very poignant question to us in accordance with Colossians 3:23-24 which commands us to "work heartily" in all things remembering it is Christ Jesus we are serving, not men. Below is the question she asked us to meditate on and consider: How would your life look differently if you embraced and believed fully what the verse in Colossians states? If the truth above is something you already believe and actively live out, how does this truth make a difference in your life? For me personally, I truly believe this passage of Scripture, but I don't always succeed in remembering it...

A Failed Abortion - A Survivor's Story
Two years ago my darling husband was serving our Lord and our country in Iraq. It was a challenging time and a very wonderful time we all spent drawing nearer and nearer to our gracious God and Father, through our Savior Jesus Christ. Shortly after my wonderful husband left for Iraq, our oldest son (who was 14 at the time) was asked to lead the prayer at Free Market Foundations annual fundraiser luncheon . The attorneys at Free Market Foundation represented our oldest son in his case against our public school district who attempted to dismantle S.W.A.T. Bible Club at our son's middle school. God won. The religious persecution our family endured and the success of this case (along with many others like it) was taken to our Governor who signed a law giving rights to all public school children to freely practice their faith in school. I attended the luncheon with both my precious boys and while we were there, we met this bright and beautiful child of God, Gianna Jessen who had survi...

STOP, DROP & PRAY!
Hello my faithful sisters! I would like to request prayers on behalf of all those who are in the path of Hurricane Ike. There are many in the Texas area, especially those near the Gulf that will suffer great loss...and prayerfully, that will not include lives. Please also pray for me, my family and those around us as we are told that Ike will be a tropical storm by the time it reaches our area, with winds up to 35 mph to 45 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. There is also a possibility that we will experience isolated tornadoes and much inland flooding. I'm off to put water in large coolers, plastic bins, etc. (so we can still go potty, in case of a power outage) and other emergency preparedness gear. Thank you in advance for your prayers. I will be sure to update you as soon as possible. May the LORD our God richly bless you for your faithful prayers! By the way, Twinkies and Ho-Ho's are a necessary part of an Emergency Preparedness Kit, right? running to my Strong Tower,

9/11 - Moving On, But Without Forgetting
It has been 7 years since our country was attacked by terrorists. It has been 7 years since the family members of those who worked in the Twin Towers have seen their relatives, friends and co-workers. It's been 7 years since most of us have thought about how very fragile and precious life is. It has been seven years since "ordinary" men and women, risked their lives to save others they did not know. And it has been 7 years since many have remembered to keep those families in our prayers. We said we'd never forget, but somehow, we have. It has been 2,000 years since God came to earth, suffered and died for the souls of all who were once enemies of God. Who were and are the enemies of God? The entire human race. For we all have sinned and fall short of the glory (perfection) of God. We broke God's Law, but Christ paid the penalty for our crime, and He set us free. Free to do whatever we want? No, free to no longer live in a hostile relationship towards God. Free to ...

Live Well Wednesdays - Being Transformed
Today at "Live Well" Darlene encouraged us with the topic of: "Associative Learning" . The first Scripture that comes to mind when I think of that is: "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." ~ Romans 12:2 One of the things I try to do is use Scripture to "spur" me "on toward love and good works." ( Hebrews 10:24 ) Which includes taking good care of my body, which truly is NOT my own ( 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 ), it is the temple of the Holy Spirit. When I remember these verses, I'm not so tempted to fall back into old habits of eating: Getting a "snack" after the kids go to bed Giving myself a "treat" after I feel I've had a hard day Using food to make me feel better when I'm upset with someone or about something Eating, not because I'm hungry, but just because i...

WFW - Jesus Calls Whom He Desires
"Here was sovereignty. Impatient spirits may fret and fume, because they are not called to the highest places in the ministry; but reader be it thine to rejoice that Jesus calleth whom He wills. If He shall leave me to be a doorkeeper in His house, I will cheerfully bless Him for His grace in permitting me to do anything in His service. The call of Christ's servants comes from above. Jesus stands on the mountain, evermore above the world in holiness, earnestness, love and power. Those whom He calls must go up the mountain to Him, they must seek to rise to His level by living in constant communion with Him . They may not be able to mount to classic honours, or attain scholastic eminence, but they must like Moses go up into the mount of God and have familiar intercourse with the unseen God, or they will never be fitted to proclaim the Gospel of peace. Jesus went apart to hold high fellowship with the Father, and we must enter into the same divine companionship if we would ble...

Hello precious sisters! A little over a month ago, I asked you for your fervent prayers and sacrificial giving to participate in the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) in honor of my dear friend and sister in Christ, Laurie . First, I'd like to thank all of you for your prayers and also for registering as a bone marrow donor with the NMDP . Second, I'd like to share some FABULOUS news with you! I just found out several days ago that a sweet, precious 19 year old young lady is a near perfect match for my darling Laurie! We don't know when all of this will happen yet, but we are so grateful and so in awe of God's provision! Here's the email she sent out: My transplant doctor called this morning to tell me.... THEY FOUND A DONOR FOR ME!!!!!!! It is CONFIRMED!!!!!
