Authentic Biblical Womahood -- eye candy for your man

I made this quick, impromptu video after making dinner for my family and realizing I had a couple minutes to spare. As I prayed about how I might best spend these few minutes, the LORD was kind to remind me of a recent video I had seen on Facebook where a Christian woman was telling other women that they are being "fake" or are wearing a "mask" if they looked halfway decent when and if they work from home. She was stating that if we are being "authentic" then we will stop trying to impress others to try to get them to love and accept us. She taught that women should just be who we are, without makeup, without hair combed, without a shower, etc., just as she was in the video (oh, but she did state that she washed her face). While I agree with the concept of being authentic, this poor sister missed a major point...CHRIST! I was very disturbed that she not only professes to be a Christian, but she also has a Christian ministry where she is wrongly teachin...

Give me one pure and holy passion...

"Give me one pure and holy passion. Give me one magnificent obsession. Give me one glorious ambition for my life. To know and follow hard after You. To know and follow hard after You. To grow as Your disciple in Your truth. This world is empty, pale and  poor compared to knowing You my Lord. Lead me on and I will run after You..." My only birthday wish is that we, as God's children would hunger and thirst for righteousness so that we may all be satisfied; rather than striving and listening more to people, that we would listen and faithfully heed the word of our awesome God. Remember, the Holy Bible is the only infallible book published. Spend more time in the word of God than in the words of man. Test everything with Scripture. Stand firm in the faith granted you by Christ Jesus the Lord. Worship the LORD with me.♥

Tithing my time with God

Our time with the Lord is very precious and vital to our spiritual health. As His children, we all require daily time with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And because it's something that is essential to our spiritual  health, our enemy, the devil, works hard to keep us from it...any way he can. The devil either makes us too busy so that we forget how to be still and know He is God (Psalm 46:10) or he weighs us down with such guilt that we haven't spent "enough" time with the Lord, that even the time we have becomes ineffective and joyless. The enemy also deceives us into believing that there's a special formula, plan, or regimen we must follow if we want our time with the Lord to count. Which brings me to a question I am asked often: "How much time is enough time with God?" During a phone conversation with a precious sister-friend a few months ago, she shared with me a burden she'd been feeling about "missing time with God" . Here...

Glee, Twilght, Potter...oh my!

Oh my, oh my, oh my... indeed! What happened to "be holy, for I am holy." What happened to light not having anything to do with darkness? What happened to living as a new creation of God, in the Spirit of Christ and not as the old creature who lived enslaved by his/her own passions and lusts? What happened to living in this world yet not of it? What happened to being distinguished as children of the Most High God, rather than blending with the rest of the world? What happened to watching or listening to things that build up our faith, things that are innocent, pure and good; things that do not defile our minds with sordid images and our hearts with lyrics that only praise and promote self love? What happened to biblical Christianity? "Therefore, preparing your minds for action , and being sober-minded , set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ . As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of ...

Will the true Christians please stand up?

What does it mean to be a true Christian ? “Everything God thinks are called facts, everything we think are called opinions!” 1 John 5:3-4 “This is love for God; to obey His commands. And His commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.” Matthew 7:21-22 “Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in Heaven.” John 10:4-5 “When he [the Shepherd] has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” John 14:15-17, 26 “If you love Me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever – the Spiri...

U2 Have Hope

I've got to be the most blessed gal ever! Seriously, I think I am sometimes! God grants me so many joys in this life, often I feel as if I'm going to burst. I wonder sometimes how this temporal body can contain the glorious blessings from God without spontaneously combusting from it! Can you feel my excitement?! A dear friend and precious sister in our Lord Jesus Christ, Carrie Cooper has recently been granted by God, an open door into radio ministry...on two stations, 91.3 fm KDKR in Dallas/Ft. Worth and 94.7 fm KKIM in New Mexico . Both radio stations love her short 30 minute segment and have joyfully invited her to air U2 Have Hope on their stations. Naturally, living in this world, that takes money and a lot of prayer. Carrie is trusting God, who opened this door, to speak into the hearts of His faithful children to: fervently pray and ask others to pray also prayerfully consider financially supporting this ministry faithfully help to spread the word: in person, by ...

Pure Gospel math -- Jesus plus nothing equals everything!

A precious sister in the Lord, whom God has graciously given me to disciple, just shared this wonderful sermon from Tullian Tchividjian given at the 2010 Desiring God conference. Our faithful brother Tullian addresses three issues regarding the Gospel: Motivation - we need to be motivated to share the Gospel to share all that God has done for us in Christ Jesus and not what "good works" we can do in His name. Identity - Believing our sole identity is in Christ and His finished work and not in anything we do or what others say about us and what we should do, will provide us the true freedom Jesus suffered and died to give us. We already have God's favor Christ. We can't do anything to gain any more. What's more than Christ? Idolatry - There are more idols in the church than outside its walls. Many Christians today fall into Satan's trap that obedience and/or good works will provide more of God's grace and blessings. NO! We receive God's grace and ...

More than my Valentine

My darling husband is more than my Valentine. He is the second greatest gift to me from God; Jesus being the first and greatest of all. Just like many little girls, I used to dream about what my future husband would look like. Not just on the outside, but more importantly, on the inside. I would dream that my God would give me a husband who loved me well, more than he loved anyone. I dreamed he would work hard for our family and be the perfect father to our children. I dreamed he'd take me wherever I wanted to go and do whatever I desired. I dreamed that his every waking moments thoughts would be about me. I dreamed my perfect husband, would be more committed to me than he was to anyone or anything else. I just wanted someone all to myself, for myself. To me, that was the most perfect husband. Oh, and of course, he needed to be handsome beyond belief. That was understood. Well, one day I grew up. And found that most men were just as self-centered as I was and their dream wife w...
